ok yall see i initially started watching vld for LANCE my latin homeboy who i loved and still continue to love with my entire soul. THEN i stayed bc of klance and perhaps that was dumb but the way their characters were quite literally written like soulmates (ie their zodiac signs, parallels w/ krolia and texas, the fucking romantically coded lightning behind their “we are a good team” moment, etc). not to mention the fire was fueled by jeremy lmao. and then adashi or shadam whatever yall want to call it was born and i was so damn happy to finally see some damn lgbt rep of COLOR on tv and then what do the voltron creators do ??? after stating that there were “good things to come” ???? they fucking killed adam not even 3 minutes after he was introduced. fuck, he doesnt even have more than a minute of screentime WITH SHIRO his significant other and yall call that rep ??? yall are satisfied ??? im disgusted. they never fucking cared about their lgbt rep they were just using them for praise and so more ppl would watch the show (WHICH WORKED) and then killed ½ of it for shock value bc theyre shitty writers and dont know what the fuck to do with the show anymore (its clear in the way the characters aren’t even acting like they usually would be and lol it isnt character development if we went from s3 keith and lance starting to become friends to s7 keith fucking insulting lance horribly and not trusting his skills ???? lol bye) they have showed time and time again that they only care about the holts and maybe keith every once in a while but hunk ??? a fat joke. lance ??? always the “dumb” one despite getting into the garrison as a preteen and getting the earth arc fucking stolen from him. shiro ??? always fucking suffering. allura ??? nothing but a way for them to force a het ship down our throats with absolutely no regard towards her character development. krolia, romelle, and adam ??? only there as a means to steer in new fans despite having little to no screen time. and dont even get me started on ezor and zethrid having the tragic angry crazy lesbians trope or how james seemed to get more lines and even an ARC before lance, a main fucking character, or keith and axca coming out of fucking nowhere. call me a bitter lance stan but i have never felt more disrespected in my life as a part of the lgbt community and a person of color lmao voltron creators and cast queer baited us horribly and ruined what could have been an EXTRAORDINARY opportunity for a show to have diversity and representation im done and i hope they never get to write another fucking show
